Dr. Ruth Mcvey, Emeritus Reader in Southeast Asian Politics at the University of London, received her Ph.D. in Government at Cornell University in 1961 and subsequently held research or teaching positions at Yale University, the Center for International Studies at MIT, Cornell University, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Her early work concentrated on the history of the Indonesian Communist movement and the general relationship between ideology and social change in Indonesia. Later, she studied social and ideological transformation in rural southern Thailand, and the rise of the Southeast Asian business-political elite. Among her principal publications are "The Rise of Indonesian Communism(1965),"Southeast Asian Transitions(1978)","Southeast Asian Capitalists(1992); and "Money and Power in Provincial Thailand(2000)".

After receiving his B.A. (Economics) from Kobe University in 1996, he joined Nippon Credit Bank (1996-97). He received his M.A. (Economics) in 2000 from Hitotsubashi University. In March 2004, he completed a doctorate course and received his Ph.D. (Economics) from Hitotsubashi University. Since April 2004, he has served as assistant professor in the Faculty of Business Administration, Kyoto Sangyo University.

Le Junjie graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Hannan University in 1999. He gained his masters degree in economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Kwansei Gakuin University in March 2001. Continued onto his doctoral course at the same institution in April of the same year, but left the program while attaining necessary credits. He gained his doctoral degree in economics in January 2005 when returning to the program as a postgraduate research fellow of the Kwansei Gakuin University. A lecturer at the College of Economics and the Labor Economics and Public Policy Research Center of the Zhejiang University in China since April 2005.
