Toshihiro Minohara

Born in 1971. Native of Irvine, California, USA. He graduated from the University of California at Davis in 1992 where he obtained a B.A. in international relations. After working at Union Bank, he obtained a M.A. in Political Science in 1996 followed by Ph.D. in 1998, both from the Graduate School of Law at Kobe University. After a being awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, he was appointed as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Kobe University in April 1999. In April 2000, he was appointed Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Law, Kobe University. He has also been a visiting scholar to Harvard University (2000-01), visiting professor at the University of California at Irvine (2002), and during 2005-07 was a visiting fellow at University of Oxford and Leiden University. In April 2007, he was appointed professor at the Graduate School of Law, Kobe University. His research interests are: U.S.-Japan relations, diplomatic, political and intelligence history.
